midnight motor

I just got my th350 rebuilt and now it shifts way too early. If I manual shift it it it revs and pulls hard. Also which direction do I turn the screw in the modulator to make it shift later?
Thanks

The vac. modulator is only for part throttle upshifts, it will not change full throttle auto shifts, and on the part throttle its only good for about 200 rpm or so up or down.
The governer controlls full throttle up shifts, and also full throttle down shifts.
I heard from one of jake's post that you can re cal the governer with out the B&M kit, but I don't know how, so I bought the B&M governer re cal kit for $29.
It comes with a bunch of weights and springs. It's kinda like re curving a dist.
I think if you wanted to try it with out the kit you drill holes in the weights to make them lighter, that will change it some, not as much as the kit though.
Light weights makes trans shift at a higher rpm, same with heavier springs. Get your shift point set close with the weights, then fine tune with the springs.
With the gov. re cal, you get the downshifts too which is nice. It will down shift under WOT if the rpm is under your re caled shift point.
