No pics because it is frickin' snowing and Jake don't do the cold!

The new shop project is a shop truck. I picked up a '82 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 SWB pickup for a song.
It had a severely worn original 305, missing trans and transfer case.
I have already sourced the t-case and drivelines, already built up a 700-R4 for it, also sourced a set of Vortec heads and I have my machinist doing me up a pretty much stock 350 short block.

It's going to be the replacement for the current '97 Ford F150 that I run parts in.
I don't wanna have to work on that POS, much rather work on the Chevy. :bowtie:

I plan on installing a TBI system on top of a Vortec headed 350 with an RV type cam.
Thinking 33's and 4-6" lift.
A push bumper on the front, and some blinding lights for the idiots who don't know how to turn off high-beams

Sounds freakin awesome!! Their is so much dang knowledge of everything on here, I think we need a NastyZ members truck project area?? Every camaro guy/gal needs a truck to gather big parts/tools.

Badass !

My first "hotrod" was an '82 stepside with one of those small B&M 177 blowers on it I drove to High School !

I have been sort of keeping an eye open for another shortbed 2wd drive one to build up for my boys.

What are you going to do with the Ferd? My painter is looking for a beater to get back and forth in.

Dave,
The Furd is a pretty reliable ride, recent battery, front brakes, and A/C compressor/drier (last summer), all new coils over the last few months, lifetime alternator, etc.
It's at 195K miles. It needs a tailgate and I would put a floormat or carpet in it because I've used it for a work truck.
It runs up and down the road good and I have no problem taking it to Houston or anywhere, BUT I know at some point it will need a motor. That POS is buried under the windshield/cowl and I want no part of that. It's probably 100K miles away from that but...
I was going to ask $2900 for it but I'll make you a deal on it, but I think that may be out of your painter's price range.

Yeah, you know the budget he is on, and who is paying him right now :)

I bet someone snatches it up quick though.

Now get off your ass and post some pics of the new toy !
