Hello all, I've been to all the sites I could found and decoded some of the numbers on the engine I have but there are some other numbers I can not find out about. I will include the one's I do know in case they are relevant to the other numbers.

these I know:

block casting # GM 3970010 - 1969-1979, 350, car,truck,vette
suffix code - K0207CLU - canada, Feb 07, car, 1973 370, L65
K12 - November 1, 1972 (or 1962,1982,1992)
head casting # - 33382 - 1970-1980, 350/400,intake 1.94 exhaust 1.50,
CC 76

no partial vin number next to the suffix number

these are the others:
also on the head - GM7T - ??, P5375 - ????

9DN3_VG or possibly V6 - ????
underlined digit not readable

these following numbers are on a metal tag attached to the drivers side of the engine:

FAS 41424
RCV 350 BOP
300631 7-90

This engine is supposed to be a rebuild target master engine

Thanks for any assistance you can give me

GM never sold rebuilt TargetMaster engines, they were all new.

The K0207CLU shows it to be a production engine manf. at engine plant in Canada (St Catherines) used in a full size Chevy passenger car (Impala etc) and would not be present on a Targetmaster engine. So I am sure this is and never was a Targermaster engine. Note-Many people use that term very loosely.

The metal tag might be from some other rebuilder contracted out by AC Delco and others.

Since its a rebuild, the codes on the engine mean very little now.

The was an alternate place to stamp the VIN, on rough cast surface above oil filter at rear block flange.

I can only guess at what this tag means.

FAS 41424 likely the rebuilders code and part number/serail no
RCV 350 BOP 350 is the cid, BOP stands for Buick-Olds-Pontiac, RCV are GM truck model codes
300631 7-90 Rebuilders serial number/part no and date rebuilt July 1990
Again this is all a WAG, I don't think you are ever going to know much more about the engine then you already do, a generic rebuilt 350.

Thanks for the educated guesses, I know this is a camaro forum but since you have so much decoding info here I decided to ask about the engine, it is going into a 94 full size blazer to replace the neglected 5.7 that is in it now. The owner of the truck wants to also convert it from TBI to TPI down the road. Since it was most likely rebuilt possibly around 1990 it is possible that the cylinders were taken 0.30 over to clean them up. The owner is not looking to make it a hot rod just a daily driver and the stock engine was in such bad shape, PCV port on TB totally clogged, EGR ports under manifold totally clogged, 1" of sludge on top of the engine valley, this engine should at least run better, (we hope!),

thanks again

Suffix "CLU" decodes as follows;

1973 350 Impala 145hp L-65 TH 350 2-Brl A.I.R.
