Running all the numbers on the Muncie, i've found it's a 1973 M20, built on 4/17/1973 (a tuesday). The only issue i'm having is with the partial VIN. It is:

14N154774

From what i can decipher that means:
1 - Chevrolet
4 - 1974
N - Norwood (same assembly plant as my camaro, cool!)
154774 - last 6 digits of VIN

I want to know what kind of car this transmission came out of...only info i can find is that Norwood produced Bel Air's, Biscaynes, Impalas, Caprices, Novas, Camaros, and Firebirds.

Any help solving the mystery of what kind of car it came out of would be greatly appreciated.

My book shows that the only Chevy produced at Norwood in 1974 would be the Camaro. 1974 was the final year for the Muncie 4 speeds, and the last ones were put into the 74 models. Your tranny appears to be one of the last ones built in 1973 and installed in a 74 model. The only 74 Camaro that would have used the Muncie should be a Z28.
