Sometimes 3 & 6's looks like 8's.. 462624.....75-86...350/400......76cc chamber, 1.72/1.5, 1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves mortec.com INSPECTOR57 08-09-2009, 07:23:52 PM Pierre Lafontaines' book "CHEVROLET Small Block V-8 ID Guide" lists the # 468624; but not the #462824 referred to (the #462624 is not there either); are you sure about the #'s? As 496z28 mentioned 3's, 6's, 8's, & 9's can look very similar especially with grease & gunk on them. The #468624 was made from '79 thru '85 with 1.94/1.50 valves & made from '79 thru '83 with 2.02/1.6 vavles (L-82). The L-82 head should have screw-in rocker studs & guide plates. Double check your numbers & get back with us. As already mentioned, if the heads were the L82 heads with 2.02 valves, you can see the screw in studs and guide plates just by pulling the valve covers. Since L82 engines were very low production, this is highly unlikely. To differentiate between the 1.94 and 1.72 valves, you need to measure them. jroach 08-12-2009, 01:30:45 PM not l82s no guide plates. i think i will just save up for vortecs |
