Here was his follow up to my questioning of how he came up with one of eight.

i do not get upset,i like cars and questions, the 1 out of 8 is there on the pruduction numbers have you broken them down? lets do it,total rpo Z-27 packages or ss for 72 6,562, total rpo L48 Engine 350-200hp(included with SS) 5,584 rpo LS3 Engine 396-240hp (SS) 970 deduct 5584 plus 970 from 6562 you have 8 left all this 8 will be ss with the Z-27 on the cowl tag, specifying the ss package but with the extra or the deductions that were order by central order production office (COPO), i did not go with that spoiler that is the one that came with the car also the rims, again this could be the added or changes they made to this 8 cars i have not found or there is no other information on any books telling me what they had or not or if all 8 where the same just that they were 8 built different, also correct 3 piece would be for a normal SS but this 8 where special order that could be one of the changes, the factory holes are not there for the 3 piece spoiler but yes it had the ones for the 1 piece, believe me i did not know all of this and even that this 8 cars existed till i bump into a old fellow that had a motor home for sale in the west coast FL that i went to see that has back in texas one of this 8 he's the one who showed me all,i drove to naples to see the motor home and took the camaro since it drives good,he look at it and when i open the hood the cowl tag was painted,he stared at it for a long time and ask me if he could removed some of the paint istanlly he call his wife screaming honey look i found another one of the 8 he had so far seen 5,2 back home texas,1 in california 1 in NY.now the one he has and the one in NY are black from factory another copo auction black was not offer in 72 so he explain the whole deal to me and told me where to find the info, also his and the one in NY have the 1 piece spoiler,i never did look at the cowl tag when i purchase the car i purchased it because it was in excellent cond and figured i could make a buck or two, thanks

So because there are 8 cars missing in the production numbers, that makes HIS one of the unaccounted for? Could have been a typo.

Everyone thinks they have a one of a kind.

Dont get me wrong, it is a nice looking car, but I would need to see proof that it is 1 of 8.

I have a 1972 Camaro SS with a factory one piece spoiler and it still has the factory deck lid. And it has a strange number on the cowl tag the number 16 is punched into it close to the rivit on the right side. Like I said it's punched into it not raised like the rest of the cowl tag. And the 2&7 in Z27 is nearly on top of eachother.
So tell us what in the cowl tag tells you that it is 1 of the 8 COPO's.

Here is the cowl tag for the 1of 8 off Ebay I can't find anything on the cowl tag that would point the car to being a COPO8875

No there isn't, I personaly don't buy the COPO story. I think if your going to add a spoiler (remember these cars are 37 years old and a previous owner might have done it) it is easier to drill several holes in a deck lid then in a deck lid and quarter pannels. As for the 16 in your trim tag I would think (not saying it is a fact) that it was stamped in after the car was built. Maybe by the selling dealer or body shop, the factory would have no use to stamp it with the indention facing in (not out). Why someone would do it is something I don't think anyone can answer at this time. There are some numbers on some years of tags that no one knows what they mean. Chevy has lost a lot of that information over the years.

I like how he has 70-71 door panels. It must be one of those COPO things.

I know I have googled 1972 COPO Camaro, Missing 8 Camaros of 72, and anyother way I could think of. I got nothing, now 1969 COPO you can find a list of vin #'s for them.
I emailed the guy with the 1 of 8 he wanted me to send him a picture of my cowl tag. So I sent it and also asked him to tell me what on his cowl tag pointed it to be a COPO, and also where I can find info on it.
I'll let you guys know what he says. I figure if he says my car is not one and then does not tell me the info on his cowl tag or where to get the info then it must not be true.

Among the 70-71 door panels and spoiler. I noticed in the picture the car had a 150 spedo. Look back at his picture of the cowl tag notice the body sequnce number (2308351) and welding beads above the tag. the tag looks rough like beat up dented on far left side . When he gave the vin # for the car he didn't give the last part as what number car it was. Could be that the vin and cowl tag are so far apart because the cowl tag was on another car. Because the tag says it's a Z27 but the vin (H) says it's just a std 350 camaro.
In the end I think he or someone tried make a std. into SS but didn't do his homework and it bit him in the end. Then come up with the story to pass it off as factory special order knowing there is no proof eather way.....
Also after i sent my cowl tag picture to him, he said how wierd my cowl tag was. Then he asked what the 5th digit was in the vin.. I have not heard from him since and he has never told me about where to get the info for a 72 COPO or what in the cowl tag tells you. he danced around that.....
