I have decyphered all the info, except for the last 6 numbers 350566.

Is this the Sequential production number that doesnt mean anything?

This car was a special order, just wondering if anyone knows what those numbers refer to.

Thanks, Mike

No, its just on the tag to identify the body inside the assembly plant. Its part of a larger series of numbers referred to a the DP SEQ NO (data processing sequence number). It was part of the electronic broadcasting system the plants used to schedule parts, work and vehicles into the assembly process and be able to track every one of them. In other words every vehicle in the plants build system had one unique data processing number and this is part of that number, often 8 to 12 digits in length. It was located in BOX 24 on the build sheet.

What do you mean by special order? If you mean a customer ordered the car then that was typical and really nothing special except to the buyer.

If you are trying to determine production sequence you need to look at the last 6 digits of the VIN,Nxxxxxx. That is the running count of models built at each plant (not company wide). The body number N116215 is not a sequence number either. The system used a central office order confirmation number as the body number. This is the same number used on body broadcast sheets in the IDENT number field, and as sent to the dealer as the order confirmation, and as appear on the Window Sticker/Shipper. These numbers were assigned to the plants from a common pool of numbers (for example, 220340 may have been built at NOR and 220341 may have been built at VN).

I've seen that tag before was that car on e bay? anyway in 73 all the things you mention that are "deleted" on you car are actually options on the z 28 and had to be ADDED not deleted. in 73 to try to keep the cost down many standard features on the z were options.so if you went into a dealer and said "give me a z28" thats what you got, no radio(always an option on all camaros70-73), stripes, spoilers, instruments,or console. if its the car i saw on e bay, nice car but just a low(or no) option z28. my 73 z28 is on the high end with 15 options
