I have a 3 speed manual looks like a muncie that came out of my 69 camaro that has the numbers GM4 3911941 and L2S8 stamped right below it on the left side. On right side tail it has 3911982 and B259 stamped below it. On a protruding oval at the top it has a partial vin of 19S124846. I thought the MC1 tranny has a 3911940. What did this go to?

19S124846 tells us that the car is:
1 = Chevrolet division
9 = 1969 model year
S= St louis Assembly Plant where full size and Corvette were built
124846 = tells us that it is a passenger car since corvette VIN starts with 700001 and passenger cars start with 000001

For '69 Colvin shows 3911940 as Muncie 3 speed main case casting number and 3911942 as extension (tail) casting number

Hope that helps

Thanks Joe. And it also has the 3911942 on the tail not the 82. The 3911941 could have a 0 at the end just looks like a 1 but hard to tell. I know there were only 3079 produced for the year of 1969. Any idea on how much these are worth?

Not a clue...most folks are looking for 4 speeds. Most of the cars that received 3 speeds at the factory get converted over to resto mods. A friend of mine has several 3 speed Saginaws...he says that circle track guys like them, I don't know if he is right but if he is that could be your target market.
