I would like to know if the chrome rectangular side mirrors on my 70 SS are correct. I had an "expert" tell me recently that only sport mirrors were correct for Z28 and SS Camaro in 1970. I don't think so, because the drivers side mirror was on the car when I bought it, and I believe it to be original.

Not all experts are correct.

The sport mirrors were not a part of the SS package in 1970. Mine came with only the driver side chrome mirror.

The sport mirrors were an option.

Gary is correct the sport mirrors were an option in 1970. The standard mirror was the chrome rectangular one mounted on the driver's side only dual outside mirros were optional as well as the sport mirrors.

Thanks, I have added an NOS dealer add-on right side mirror. I didn't know if you could order it that way, but I had to have the added safety of having it over there. I figure if you could obtain over the counter from the dealer its OK to put on the car and still maintain correctness. Thanks for your comments.
