There is a guy locally that has a set of 170cc runners with 1.94-1.50 and 65cc chambers.

Whats the consenous on these?

They are awesome.

Not as good as AFRs, but a VERY good head. The exh valve should be 1.55 though if I remember correctly. They make about 10hp more than a Vortec, need no modifications for lift and weigh a lot less.

Thats going to depend on a lot of things. You should be able to run more compression and slightly more cam due to the larger exhaust valves and aluminum construction.

I fall else were equal, one motor to another.. Then I would think going with the vortecs would be better b/c they can be had, modified, for half the price.. Yeah they weigh more and dont look as pretty, but if they perform within such a small margin, me personally, I'd rather put the money elsewhere in the car..

A guy here has a brand new set in the box with an air gap intake, all for $1100.

doesn't sound like too bad a deal.

$1100 is a pretty good deal for that setup.

I'm sure with a bigger cam that would have been more hp. Still good heads that perform. RHS are also a good bang for the buck and cheap.
