Hey guys have yet another question. Droped in my 383 stroker motor and started hooking up the accessories it did not take long to hit the wall. it seems I can not get the power steering bracket to work. Ok so i went after market still no good I am wondering if the 7 inch harmonic balancer versus the six might be the problem. In othe words will the 400 HB change the mount position of my original 350 set up? I know someone has, help me!!!! frustrated, mad, greasy bloody knuckles.

Harmonic Balancer should have no affect on this setup. I switched to Allan Grove bracket, fit like a glove. I chunked all the stock brackets also on the last rebuild b/c of the same reason; busted knuckles, etc.

As Corkey said, the ps pump s should not have any interference with the balancer. The fact you have a 383 doesn't mean the geometry will be any different from a standard sbc. I am running the 8" balancer and all stock brackets with no problems. Recheck to be certain that the pump is properly mounted in the correct locations and you should have no problems. Good luck.

Shouldn't be any different. All the external stuff is in the same position.

The front face of the balancer should be in the exact same position as your previous balancer. That's one of those dimensions that's been consistent since forever, regardless of year or balancer size.
