Hey all,
Long time since I've been in. I have an engine that I pulled out of my 72 and I'm trying to figure out what exactly it is without tearing it all apart. When I pulled it it ran strong so I don't think a rebuild is in order just yet. I found the block and head castings and know that block is a 1978 350 with 4 bolt mains. Head are 1969 camel humps.

I'm trying to figure out the following:

Compression ratio

Bore/CU (if it's been bored)

Stroke

Thanks for any help.

dont think you can figure any of that without a teardown.

That's what I was afraid of. Time to order a gasket set and bolt kit. Any reccomendations?

Fel Pro gasket kit, if its nothing extroidonary just re-use the stock bolts. Use ARP bolts if it makes you feel better or you want to add some power in the future, may as well get this step outta the way now.

+1 on the stock bolts. throw em in a bucket of gasoline, let em sit for a while..and they should come out pretty clean. least thats what i do...and it's worked great so far. or if you have a parts cleaner....even better. have fun with the tear down
