What is the best spark plug gapping tool?

I need to increase the gaps on some plugs a LOT (>.010) and I need to keep the electrodes square with each other. I can do it by hand, but I need to develop a process for an unskilled person to do it and it needs to be dead nuts and repeatable. This is for a mass production situation, but with not enough volume to get NGK to make custom plugs for me.

i've never seen a gapping tool like that....interesting. i just use the round feeler gauge deal with the hooks for the gap sizes and the prongs to do the gapping

From GM. I think back in the 60's or 70's. Not sure if they still sell them.

And I thought I was a cheap bastidge.....
A nickel is about .070.... Too thick for most plugs.

A well-worn DIME is very close to .045. ;)

(BTW..... You Canadians can use a dime. It's .047 thick.)

When I had a VW Bug, I would gap the points with a match book
It would run great

Ive been looking at the Accel Shorty Plug, due to my recent instalation of headers. What i dont know is..The Accel plugs are gapped at .035 or .038...not sure. Do these plugs have to stay at .035/.038/ Or can i re-gap them to the proper .045? Thanks..

if you're running a HEI style distributor then yes you need the plugs gapped @.045 for best results
