True roller chain, cam and crank sprockets. I used the Edelbrock #7800 kit. It has the GM casting # on it too.

The Airgap intake might be a little overkill for your cam with a 5500 top end.
The Edelbrock (or Holley/Weiand) version for Vortec heads might serve you better for street use.

If you are planning on usng a stock HEI... you won't have great ignition performance past 5000 RPM anyway.

I'm his cousin so i know more or less whats what... Tight budget just needed ideas of what to do with the cam and stuff like that overall in the engine. All the knowledge you guys have with vortec's, Lay it down.

What is the intended use of the car? Also, what trans and converter are you running, as well as rear gear ratio? Your engine specs sound like a mildly modded street motor, but if you expect more from it, there will be other considerations. Good luck.

What are you running for an exhaust system ? What size engine and compression ratio ? What do you want the engine to do ?

He has a 2000 stall on a turbo350 tranny magnaflows i think... the intended use of the cars is basically everything it has a hotchkiss all around so it would make a nice road racer. He wants low 400s at least off bottle. Hes been running a 125 i think forever and no engine probs so he'll proly stick with that until he gets money for a pro charger. it has 3.73 at the moment. So give em some ideas of the cheapest safest strongest built way to get it there...

My personal idea would be he sends the vortecs and 350 block to the shop i sent mine to and get the engine pan to heads rebuilt with a 3 angle etc etc for about 1300 bucks with the installation of a nice cam... So what kinda cam i dont know thats up to you the pros to decide lol. Hes got hedmans, that eddy intake and thats about it... With vortecs and the flat top style it should be at about 9.5:1 comp ratio. But the cam will most proly have to stay within the vortec stock limits. TYPE AWAY GUYS.
