Anyone have any opinions on these??? Are they reliable, or for show cars only ??

http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/sum-390136.jpg

I've got a rare application here, 78 Camaro with a 2004 GTO LS1, and a LS1/LT1
Spectre Radiator, so I am having problems finding an exact upper rad hose match. I will
have to trim it down to 27" or so, not sure if that fuddles the integrity of them or not.

I got this 25" rubber hose that has a spring in it to flex for $15 from Murray's
but it honestly looks maybe an inch short after I do the tight bends.....so I'm
thinking a Stainless flexible radiator hose is a better option but I don't know how
good they are VS the Rubber one's.

Any opinions??

they are actually very good. Can be trimmed easily. Some companies offer them in different finishes. I have seen red, blue, and black anodized.

I saw them for about 100 for the 36 inch length. At california car covers.

These are good for custom applications as they can be cut to your size needs.I've got one on my car now, just the upper as the kit didn't work on my lower due to the larger output on my aluminum aftermarket water pump. These are available from numerous dealers on E-bay the product is all the same.Just find the person selling it the cheapest & go from there.Little tip for yah make sure you wrap some masking tape on the area you cut makes for a cleaner job & less chances of damage if the blade jumps saw's all is a must and a vise.

I actually have a piece left. You need a piece 27+" long??? I even have the chrome covers, clamps & the rubber hose inserts. I bought the kit for the top & bottom & I didn't use the section left over for the bottom.Let me check to see if it's long enough.

I am not sure, but I measured the old hose including the bends, I think it's 27".

The rubber hose I got with the spring is 25" and with the bends....
seems it might be short, but I haven't mocked it up in the car yet.

Well your in luck as the peice I have left is 26.5" long. I was going to sell it to my buddy but he never came threw. You will need to get one of the rubber hose sleves as shown in the photo as I ruined the other one while I was trying to make the lower one fit my water pumps larger then stock output =:(

Just throw me $20 via pay-pal & it's yours I will pack it into a priority box & you will have it in a couple days. That's deal compared to what the kit costs.
Let me know

Where can I get one of those rubber hose sleeves??? (just go cut one off a rad hose??)
I don't know how these work exactly, so excuse my ignorance....but...

Is that a middle rubber sleeve, between the metal outer sleeve, and the inner "Sized" sleeve
for the correct diameter off the radiator.....or....how does this work?? I've never used one
of these, so I'm a newb to this.

To be honest I don't even know how the other end goes on, and seals....LoL...

How long do these last?

Reason I ask is because I bought a replacement lower radiator hose today at NAPA and it set me back 20.00! It's amazing what the price of gas effects. I would rather buy something like this, if it could last. Would you need a sacrifical annode? Dissimiliar metals and what not.

Nitro, where did you get your fender braces ??

I made them, I'm a tool maker & automated machine builder.Had some time this past summer to kill at work so I made them there.Couldn't see spending $$$$ (250.00+)on the ones sold off the net when I could make them for free =

It took me a few trial fits before I got it to fit right and not leak.Picture is from when I replaced the radiator.
I bought mine from Hot Rods USA for about have the price of new at their garage sale, although I checked and they don't have any left but still have other good prices on somethings.
