I'm changing from a fixed flex fan to a clutch fan set-up. I bought the Flex-a-lite 18" clutch fan and thermal fan clutch.

How far into the shroud should the fan be? Or, how close to the radiator should the fan clutch be?

With a 1" spacer it sets in the shroud a little less than half way...a 2" spacer a little more than 3/4 in the shroud.

The fan should extend 1/2 way into the shroud. I bet the 1" spacer will be just fine.

The fan should be about 1/2 in & 1/2 out.
Shorter spacers are better.... Less chance for wobble.

If the 1" doesn't seem to cool enough, you might have better luck with the 2".
I would start with the 1" spacer myself.
