If so do you want them black or are just painting them black becouse there scuffed? I just worked on my front moldings the other day, they have a clear anodizing on them, sometimes the scratches are just in that and can be removed, i used easy off oven cleaner to remove the anodizing, takes several coats, then i polished them on the bench grinder, they shine like chrome and you can see very few scratches now, just make sure you put a coat of wax on them after words, But i you just want black Yes primer them! ------------------ CamarosRus 10-15-2003, 12:32:00 PM For EVERYONE's info.....The Front and Rear Window "REVEAL" Trim on 70 Plus Camaros was ALUMINUM material that was then "Brite-Dip" Anodized......Once it becomes messed up in whatever way....the only way to fix it is to have anodizing removed with CORRECT acid, then polish trim and have new "Brite-Dip" anodizing reapplied......Depending upon how you use and store car you could just repolish and not Brite -Dip but the Aluminum will retarnish "over time" (???)....The moldings around hood, fenders, doors, and roof line on R/S and Z-21 Style Trim cars are made from STAINLESS STEEL and can much more easily be polished at home or on the car Chuck Sharin LUIS RENTERIA 10-16-2003, 05:35:00 PM <font face="Arial,Verdana" size="2">Originally posted by bracksz28: Are you talking about the molding around the front and rear windshileds? Think the mouldings would be more resistant against chipping with powder coat than paint would be. Just my $.02 worth! http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif Jim '80 Berlinetta |
