I would like to replace the tail lamp to body gaskets on my '79 when I get the car painted because they look like crap. They're $39.95 ea (2 required, of course) in Classic Camaro. Anyone know of a reproduction version or alternative?

The 78-81 close out filter (lens to body gasket) is not available yet. Naturally, CI has it in their catalog, but we all know what that means.

Are you sure? You're referring to the one in Momentum's catalog for $39.95 ea? CI has shown that for over a year....although they do have a habit of saying "it's discontinued". I was hoping for a repro option.

Yep, They're not available yet. That's why it says "comming soon" on the part in our catalog. Classic will still take your order, you just won't get it until it becomes available.

I live 10 minutes away from Classic Industries and never go there. No one I know does either. We all shop at the Chevelle store (Original Parts Group) for crossovers, and find other sources for Camaro-only parts.

Rediculously high prices, bad advice, bogus catalog tactics.

I didn't say anything when the counter guy handed me a Ford Thunderbird caliper and told me it was an original GM part. I just left, disgusted as usual.

I've been looking for that particular part myself... Mine are all shrunk and hard. It's really hard to put the taillights in the car without scratching the paint!

Moe: Please feel free to contact me when you are able to get this part...

Thanks guys. Looks like good advice. Anyone know where I can find a complete set of chrome molding for the rear window of my '79 Camaro ?

momentum, or anyone, do guys have an idea of when this will be available? Has the aftermarket indicated that they will offer this, as well as the lens to housing gasket?
