Used an lb. of Jimmy Dean's hot sausage and an lb. of burger meat. Used Carrol Shelby's mix. Sauteed onions and a can of diced tomato and small can of tomato sauce. It's tastin yummy.

Gonna make Frito pie and add a lil cheese and sour creams to taste :) .

Never had Frito pie....recipes ??

I was shoppin today at the grocery store and picked up a lb of ground BISON...almost $7. But its delegated for chili....as well as the lb of steak I got that I trimmed out (wasn't the best piece, but it was cheap and STEAK).
Got some grounds porks and a few lbs of venisons in the freezer....think I still got some venison snausage I could be putting in there. Meat Chili w/beans.

Oh yeses....

Frito Pie

Take a bowl, put Frito chips on the bottom, put chili on top of frito, then put cheese on top on chili. Enjoy! you can add sour cream to the chili if you like that.

The state of Texas does not allow beans in their chili! We created chili! LOL

The majority of the chili I have tried at a chili cook off did not have beans in it. the one's that had beans ranked the lowest in score for a reason.

I have to agree here. Beans have NO PLACE in chili.

I respect John immensley (and his cookin skillz) but have to disagree here.

Ahh...simple....but I usually put them crushed on top WITH some cheese...and fresh onion :)

Just for you ladies - I'll try to skip the beans on my 'spicy tomato and meat soup' - read:chili......lol.

Spicy is like water around here, that ain't enough heat to be called chili. ;)
