can a stock hood 70-73 be retro fitted to a functional cowl hood like the early 69 camaro Z28 with the ZL2 cowl induction air cleaner.this is the famous cold air set-up that was used by copo and Zl1 cars like chevelles ,camaros and vettes . i've got the air cleaner assembly right now the base, extension ring, flange, lid, and hood seal

i've got a scoop already also i'm just wondering about the hood like cutting the hole exactly like the original style hood.also the hood bracing not getting damaged

Save yourself alot of time and money and spring for the cowl hood from Goodmark. It's all steel with all of the bracing and cut-outs for the air cleaner seal. It's a high quality product thats shipped ready to paint. I have one on my '70 RS/SS 396 and love it. The only drawback is a low style manifold must be used at least on a big block. Prices vary so check around. The best price I remember seeing was at National Parts Depot.
