I just installed a new Edelbrock Performer intake manifold on my '79 Z28. I just started it up and after idling it for about 15 minutes I noticed some leakage at the manifold/main radiator hose hookup, as well as some smoking there and at the hose/radiator connection. I stopped the car an I could hear the radiator boiling. I had just filled the radiatior with coolant. Also I had recently painted the intake/hose hookup with high temp paint and has closed the seal with a gasket and "Aviation Form-a-Gasket". What is the smoking due to?

Also, does anyone know where I can get rid of the old coolant? Thanks

Take it to an auto parts store...

z-boy, the fact you heard a boiling type noise even after filling up the coolant system is there might still be a air pocket in the system, keep an eye on it(coolant level) the first time or two you drive it and it should work it self out... also you noticed leakage at hose/waterneck or waterneck/ manifold connection, correct that and smoking should stop....
