Ok, i drive my 79z to work every day. (i just barely got another car to drive during this winter i drove it last winter.) It has the original paint job on it and its starting to look fairly bad. it still shines fairly well but was over waxed by previous owner and primer is showing through on some places. Now my question is do those spray paint color fix cans like the ones they sell at the auto parts stores (where i work.) do any good or are they just for cheapos and retards who scratched the bosses car? If they are good are they easy to use, also whats the opinion on maaco paint jobs? and lastly does any one know of any painters in the utah colorado wyoming area that would paint my car inexpensive but well? Its almost completly black and i plan on keeping it that way nothing fancy yet. Thanks in advance for any help.

as far as macco goes, i had them paint my s-10. the red was faded badly. i think it was well worth the $300.00. it chipped around the window after a year but otherwise ok.

I had Maaco paint my sonoma pickup about a year ago and not only did it turn out better than I thought it would, it still looks good a year later. I wouldn't have them paint my 70 Camaro but for something in need of an inexpensive paint job it's $300 well spent.

I used to manage a maaco, and the paint is the same stuff the other shops use, they just have usually 2 guys per car sand, 2 guys mask, one spray, one detail, so the work is fast, they also don't prime and sand they use sealer on every car, so any imperfections that are in the car will still be there unless you pay extra, that's where they make money is the body work, and redoing a few cars since the owner didn't really like the look, and signed a paper saying they didn't want any body work

But that doesnt say much to me http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif Im worried about rust. but dont know which way to go. would maaco give me a good deal just to touch up the paint. (about 3 large splotches of damage most of the rest is good. even still glossy (see my pics.)

with maaco do an overall, it's cheaper since there is actually less work figure anything not painted has to be masked, the you have to get the color to match. The duplicolor stuff I have never used except on engines, and it worked decent there
