I want the brushed aluminum look for my headlight bezels and was thinking of using the Eastwood chrome paint and then very lightly scuffing them. Has anyone else tried something similar? What other techniques are out there to give the brushed aluminum look?

I've also thought about buying repro chrome headlight bezels and scuffing them, but I bet the chrome plating on them is so thin that you couldn't even lightly scuff them without scratching completely through the chrome.

The chrome might be good but have you seen the argent silver? That may look better.

Theres a member here with a mom and pop chrome plating business. Some guys here had there bezels chromed by him and had nothing but great things to say.I dont remember who it was,but I remember those bezels looking outstanding and wondering why the factory didnt do it in the first place.Do a search!

I believe that was me.

However, if he is referring to the later style plastic bezels there isnt anything I could do.

And yes the repops that come chromed have really thin plating, but a handheld square of Scotch-Brite pad would be the best bet for scuffing without cutting through for the satin/brushed look. It should be possible.
