I joined a local car forum.....I went cruising with 4 other guys.....all Mustangs.

We had a blast though - we drove up into Georgia and ate seafood for lunch, then cruised back.

I threw the water pump/alternator belt on the way home and had my second flatbed experience this year. Luckily I was close to home, but still out in the sticks (and not with the 'Stangs - lol).

The purple/green Mustang had a sweet factory paint job. He added a supercharger and heads - it was waaaay fast.

Love the wheels on your car. Looks sweet moving down the road.

Great looking car! Sounds like a fun time too, aside from the tow of course.

I bet you're carrying spare belts and wrenches in the trunk now, eh?

Gordo, if you are throwing belts, check your pulley alignment... it's usually the alternator that flexes forward and kicks the belt off...

I have a nifty fix for that;)

I have a very sturdy mid-mount Alan Grove bracket....I don't think it's flexing.

Like a dummy, I saw the belt was loose when I fired the car up that morning, but like even more of a dummy, I ignored it....

I had the opposite problem, when my belt was tightened up correctly I would throw it if I got on the gas pretty hard. I added just a little slack and haven't had the problem for over a year now. Still carry spares though.

I was screwing around with a buddy in his '01 SS one time. At the next light this old guy pulls up waving his arms and yelling something, I thought he was going to give me crap for messing around on the street or something like that but he just wanted to let me know I threw my belt about half mile back, what a nice guy. ;)

Flatbed trips suck! I had two the last week.... one Beretta one Camaro. If I threw a belt I'd be alright for a little while... just wouldnt have p/s or a charging battery.

Pictures look great, I always wanted to get some pics of my own like that. What kind of camera was being used?

Not sure about the cameras, Woody. The first two are a different camera than the 2nd two.

The moving pics were from a digital camera that looked like a run-of-the-mill digital camera while he was holding it out the window - nothing special. We were probably running 60-70 mph. Have the Tiffster lean out of the Subaru with the Camera!

ZYAL8R posted similar pics last year and I thought the same thing:
