it was a crazy yellow and black color combo..had to go. so alot of plastic covering for overspray, and three spray bombs of Krylon flat black later...hear is the outcome...

thanks guys. when the paint is all said and done...she's gonna be hugger orange, with flat back hood and the tailight area will be flat black to. hopefully all done in the spring of next year.

I have a 71 rs and have thought about the tear drop hood and just wanted to see how it looks on yours , from the angle you have taken the pics it looks really good but i would like to see a front view if its not too much trouble ....thanks DMeister

What kind of spray pattern did it have?
Just regular indoor/outdoor?

I might have to get some. When I spray bombed my notch for my 3rd gen I got over lap spot big time even being careful. Thought maybe it was just cause it was so big, but your hood is much bigger.

its Krylon Rust Tough Enamel paint. i got it at my local Advance Auto parts. it has the blue nozzle with the push button deal on top. sprayed in an almost airgun pattern, kinda misty. went on really smooth. painted it inside my garage as well.

thanks very much for the pics . the hood looks really good on your car. I have thought about the teardrop scoop myself but am having a hard time deciding between a tear drop, 4 in cowl or just go back with my flattie .. I think the tear drop may be the way i am going but i was wandering how it would look with rs stripes or maybe something like a Dale Jr stripe or something ..but any way it really looks good on yours
