Well I took the 78 out today for the first time since the Bigblock install. I figure if your gonna test drive it you might as well go all out. I took it out after work in 104 degree temp to go check a sight out for work. I quickly found out that the combination of the 454, headers, no exhaust, and 4 speed trany are an anoying combination at any speed above 40.... but boy you should have seen the reaction I got. everywhere I went heads turned and people stared. It drove great and didnt overheat but it did rattle my teeth out and melt the ice in my drink within a few minutes. I then took the back roads home and after a good distance away from town I pulled a u-ie and it decided to stall (my fault). I cranked it over reved it to about 3500 rpm and left a good 30 foot streak on the ground in first then a good 10 footer in second. I quickly pulled in to another street in second going about 20ish floored it and shifted into third. I smoked them all the way into 4th. I figured out that I have absolutely no traction if I downshift into second and go up to any more than 4500 rpm.
