im having trouble with the wiring for my break lights. I am horrible with wiring, so i really need help. Everytime I push on the break, my break lights light up and are very dim. Also, the front parking lights and the dash lights all light up when the brake is pushed too. has anyone encountered this problem, or could tell me whats wrong?

electricity takes the path of least resistance. You brake lights sound like they have lost their ground. Then instead of the power going through the bulb then to ground it goes through the bulb, then through the other lights to ground. Start looking at all the connections and where the wires bolt to the body.

Do you have the wrong bulbs in the taillights? Sounds like 1-current is getting from the brake light circuit into the lighting circuit, and 2-there isn't enough current in the wires to illuminate all the bulbs sufficiently. If you have the wrong bulbs in just one taillight, that would do it.

if my ground was bad, does anyone have any idea where the ground would be at?

Basically the ground is at the housing or at least near it, if you have a volt ohm meter check the resistance of both wires at the bulb to the body one will have a little the other being power hopefully has none

I found the ground for the taillights in the trunk, but it is still grounded well. any other possibilities?

I had a 70 Nova with a similar problem. When I would hit the brakes, the front parking lights would come on. Turned out to be a problem with the 4 way flasher (emergency).
