hey fellas' another electrical genius here, wiring my 73 camaro .had a 307 and now has a brand new 454.. question the motor will be set up with hei distribter, and msd ignition box , do i need a coil as well?been reading the posts ,they are very helpfull but have not figuared out if i do or don't? any wiring help would be greatly appreciated ....bill ps car had empty engine bay when purchased so im starting from scratch 307 wiring is still in bay(points)

You will still need a coil, I think msd has an adapter kit for going to the hei

Look in summit, they sell a kit that adapts a 6 series box with HEI dist. You can get the kit with a 6A box for $200 or with a 6AL for $250.

THANX FOR THE REPLY, THATS TRUE EVEN THOUGH DISTRIBUTER HAS COIL IN CAP?

I'm not sure how well the msd works or even attaches to a stock type coil I've always used the kit and it worked for me
