View Full Version : Getting a new game, need recommendations!
Orange Terror 02-08-2008, 09:48:55 AM Wanna pick up a new game this weekend, debating between 3 right now. I have a 360.
Mass Effect
COD4
Assassins Creed
I get a couple hours a night when my wife is working 3-4 nights a week to play, never been a fan of the squad based military shooters but I don't think COD4 is like that. Enjoy playing on XBL but would need the time to get good.
So, IDK, that's what I'm debating on, any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Devryn 02-08-2008, 11:10:00 AM OMG...That's SUCH a HARD CHOICE between the first two. I have them both and they're each simply amazing in their own way. Mass Effect is one of the deepest and best RPG experiences to ever hit a console WITHOUT feeling like an RPG. There are a couple of drawbacks...The inventory system needs some tweaking and the rover vehicle thing controls like sht.
COD4 is the most cinematic and awesome action/war game ever made. I can't tell you how many times my jaw hit the floor! There are a couple of drawbacks...The single player campaign is short. Oh...And you will die....Alot...
Keizer 02-08-2008, 01:28:27 PM I haven't played Mass Effect, but you can't go wrong with COD4. I agree with Devryn, that the graphics are impressive. In multiplayer, I sometimes find a server with no one on it, just so I can walk around and blow up the cars. Alot of thought went into this game.
And yes, you will perish ALOT. You don't have any time to stand back and enjoy the kill. If you do, your dead!!
iregret 02-08-2008, 08:08:18 PM I like cod4, but havent ever played it on the 360, only on the PC.

I played it on X box and hated the way the controller made the character move. It was too robotic. I like my MX 518 PC mouse that I can control the DPI on the fly. Plus the graphics sucked on the old TV I was playing it on. Again, I like the PC version on my 22" gaming LCD.

padave 02-09-2008, 05:46:42 PM cod4 is way to short for the $50 price. Not worth it IMO.

It makes up for it with the online play...

Looks cool but it looks like its for PC players. I'm on a 360. Picked up COD4, going to play some of the campaign first, but hope to be online this week.
Cougar125 02-13-2008, 12:18:54 AM COD4 online is awesome. I'm almost done with the campaign on veteran. It gets real damn hard after you take the shot. You'll know what I'm talking about ;)

The hardest time I've had on Veteran so far is running from the farm house. F'n IMPOSSIBLE. Of course, the last mission I'm finding is damned near impossible too.
Orange Terror 03-03-2008, 02:05:57 PM I haven't tried Veteran yet, still hooked on the online. Love this game, absolutely love it.
79HumbleBee 03-03-2008, 02:08:38 PM I can only vouch for COD4 as i have played and beaten it on the PS3. I loved it. and it has a huge online gaming community.

Now look what ya did, you got Doug getting so excited he's going into geek speak mode. LOL
I am another vote for COD4 , I'm a LONG time gamer , and this is the best
I've seen to date, blows BF 2142 out of the water. I'm addicted too.
As has been stated, the Single Player game is short, but the Multiplayer
online portion is where it's at. It's like the new CounterStrike in popularity.
