Hopefully some one more knowledgable will chime in.

It sounds like maybe you have the hideaway wipers and got the standard arms instead of the hideaway ones.

That would be my guess too. Do you know if you have hideaway wipers? If you got arms that would fit 67-72 they won't work on the hideaway system, hideaway parts would be 70-73 specific. Maybe all the way to 81, I am not sure how long they made the hideaways. There is a way to tell by looking at the wiper motor if you aren't sure. I think the round motor is hideaway and the square motor is standard, but don't quote me on that.

I Changed The Wipers To A Cheaper Brand They Dont Stand As Tall On The Windshield,i Have Minimum Clearance Now.i Still Dont Think I Have The Right Setup The W/s Wiper Motor Is The Square Type.

I think that its the blades, not so much the arms . Original blades are really flat and, as they are metal, have wiper blade refills that should be changed instead of the complete blade. Aftermarket blades stick up to high and caqn contact the hood. Hope this helps, Bob

thanx guys.I thank you are right about the blades the cheaper ones I bought were not as tall, I also went to the 18" blade seems to work fine.Eaglefixer I used the straight arms that were used on 67-69, npd were sold out of the blades so I bought them from autozone.

Try the Trico Exact Fit. They are the only ones that will clear my hood cowl.

Wiper arms from 67-69 Camaros are different than 70-76 Camaros.18" wiper blades are used on the hidden wipers from 70-81.

I called yearone tech support and they said they are the ones i need but are on a national back order but i have found the brand exact fit part number 16-2 or 18-2 that will fit. Here's a link http://www.tricoproducts.com/catalogs/exactfit.pdf

If anyone needs wiper arms for a hideaway system, I have multiple sets. Let me know. They are the correct articulated style for '70 up.

I do believe that the hide away wipers were only on RS optioned cars correct?

Hideaway wipers were standard on RS cars, but they were also standard on SS cars, and in addition to that, they were available separately on any other car by ordering RPO-C24.
So, more 71s came with hideaways than without them.

I think cars with hidden wipers came equipped with a rubber bumper covered bolt located on the cowl in front of the windshield (similar to those located on each side of the radiator support). This will lift the hood so the wipers don`t hit it.

OK the links no longer work from the above posts, soooo anyone know the part number for the exact fit Trico's and do the come with the metal frame and rubber blade or is it just a replacement rubber blade?

Posted this yesterday in another thread: for my 71 w/16" blades, I needed the arms and the rubber refills. I bought a passenger side recessed wiper arm from Classic pn 15165 ($26.99) and the rubber refill pn 17593-2 ($7.75). The passenger side arm for the recessed system is the same as a non-recessed driver and passenger side. Also they have the correct end connector for the blade holder. I also bought the entire refill w/correct brushed metal blade holder from NPD pn 17528-3 ($11.95).

Thanks. Forgot to say mine is the standard wiper system not recessed one.

Thanks. Forgot to say mine is the standard wiper system not recessed one.
Mine is standard also. I couldn't find the correct arm with the proper blade holder (solid pin), so I bought the PASSENGER SIDE arm of the recessed system. Works for our standard set up. Check out the site.
