Looked at paddock and npd to no avail, am looking too. Gary S 09-05-2005, 12:34:00 PM Before replacing the switch, thoroughly checkout the motor. These dash switches seldom fail, but the delay motors fail often. The two most common symptoms when the motor goes bad are: 1. Motor intermittently fails to start when the switch is turned on. 2. If motor starts and runs, sometimes it will not shut off until the ignition switch is turned off, and then back on. These two symptoms almost always are the failure of the "park relay" inside the wiper motor. Last I checked, these relays were still available new from GM. I have had to replace this park relay in every GM car I've owned that had delay wipers and the depressed park wiper system. Wm 09-05-2005, 12:49:00 PM The motor also had other problems and has been relaced with a reman unit. Although reman doesn't mean always good, the switch can be used if you like to play around with it for proper operation. BTW; I have found the following part #'s 14029550 GM MC64761 Niehoff Wells SW1482 Echlin ECHWS6082 All seem to sub to the GM #, (got bored and started to look harder!) Wm Gary S 09-05-2005, 01:24:00 PM Swap meet section has a 80 wiper switch for sale right now. I think 80 and 81 were the same. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/031372.html |
