Is it possible to make a 4 speed saginaw indistructible? or at least take a good beating? Also, how would a 4 speed warner from a 3rd generation irock camaro work?

There is no economial way to make a Saginaw indistructable. Any of the Gen III Camaro stuff is marginal at best.

a friend of mine has a saginaw built by these guys http://www.mrracingequipment.com/M&R%20Racing%20Equipment%20-%20Trannys.htm for the last 4 years it's been living behind a 383 with NOS in a nova. he runs mid 12's with out NOS and high 10's with. my friend sware by these cheap trans. me i didn't beleive him until i saw the car run and took a ride in it when he dump the clutch at 4500rpm and the damn thing live. i had to look and make sure he wasn't lieing to me. yea it was a saginaw. he uses a
-0 Line with a gear ratio of 2.84/2.01/1.35/1.00 and a 12bolt with 3.55 gears an at the track he runs Hoosier dot drag radials. he dose drive the nova on the street too.
me personlly i would use a Jerico trans if i could.but i ain't got that kind of money. so i got a Saginaw in mine that i rebuild myself. BUT i won't be doing any 4G's dumping of the cutch. my car is a daily driver for fun not a racer(yet ! )

I'm presently using a saginaw in my camaro and it hasn't broken yet, I got a 383, and I've done a 13.8 @ 106mph (no better than a 2.1 60 ft so far). It is a 3.5:1 first gear model, and my differential is a 2.41. I'm gonna swap in a munice just for peace of mind.
